With a grouping in a table view, you group the lines in the table view according to the contents of a selected field. You can open and close groups for quick access to the items in the group. In a table view you can group the items in up to five subsequent groups. The lower group groups the items within the higher group.
With a grouping in a chart view, you make groups of items represented in the chart. For example, a slice in a pie chart represents a group of items. The size of the slice depends on the number of items or a total calculated from the field. In a chart view, you can group the items only according to one field.
You may want to open the view with closed groups. With closed groups, you will see only the group names, not the items. The group names give you an immediate overview of the items. Open a group to find more detail, by clicking the plus sign.
