Emptying the cache

Service Desk uses cache files to locally store information that would otherwise have to be sent over the network. Using the cache speeds up Service Desk considerably, but may take disk space on your computer. To free the disk space, empty the cache regularly. Emptying the cache will slow down Service Desk temporarily.

To empty the Service Desk cache:

  1. Choose Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. To empty the cache immediately, click Purge Cache Now in the Caching area.
  4. To empty the cache every time you close Service Desk, select the Purge cache on exit check box.
