Using lookup item buttons

In a form you will find fields that point to other items. In a service call form, the Caller field points to a person item. The labels of those fields also function as lookup item buttons. In the picture below you see two lookup item buttons in a part of the service call form. You recognize a lookup item button by the small triangle.

Rest the mouse pointer on any part of the lookup item button to find the ToolTip for the button. This is shown in the following picture.

The ToolTip is especially useful when labels are cut off, such as the Configuration Item label in the following picture.

Click a lookup item button to find the lookup menu, as shown in the following picture.

In the lookup menu, you have the following commands:

Tip: The text in a field that points to another item is normally underlined. Click in the field to type new information, as is done in the picture below.

Then use the lookup item field to find an item quickly.
