Changing the format of time fields

You can control the way times are displayed in Service Desk. The changes you make do not affect other users. Three types of time format are supported: short, medium, and long. You construct time formats using date-time symbols. After you have specified the format for each type, you can select a format type to be displayed in the following areas of Service Desk:

For example, you may want to display the short time format in a particular table view, and the medium or long time format in forms. 

To change the format of time fields:

  1. Choose Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Time formats tab.
  3. Specify the required format options using valid date symbols.
  4. Use the sample time format displayed in the Sample field to verify the settings.
  5. Click Apply to apply the changes and leave the dialog box open, or click OK to apply the changes and close the dialog box. Alternatively, click Cancel to cancel the changes.
