Changing the format of number fields

You can control the way numbers are displayed in Service Desk. The changes you make do not affect other users. You can control whether leading zeros are displayed, specify the decimal symbol, the number of decimal places shown, the grouping symbol, the number of digits in a group, and suffix and prefix symbols for positive and negative numbers.

To change the format of number fields:

  1. Choose Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Number formats tab.
  3. In the Number Style area, specify the required format options.
  4. Use the sample positive and negative numbers displayed in the Number Sample area to verify the settings.
  5. Click Apply to apply the changes and leave the dialog box open, or click OK to apply the changes and close the dialog box. Alternatively, click Cancel to cancel the changes.

NOTE: When system administrators define custom and custom calculated number fields, they can choose to display the number with or without grouping. For example, with three-digit grouping using the comma (,), 10000 would be displayed as 10,000. You can switch grouping on or off for custom and custom calculated number fields in views when adding and formatting fields in views, but you cannot switch grouping on or off for custom or custom calculated number fields in forms.
