Changing the format of currency fields

You can control the way currency values are displayed in Service Desk. The changes you make do not affect other users. You can control whether leading zeros are displayed, specify the decimal symbol, the number of decimal places shown, the grouping symbol, the number of digits in a group, and suffix and prefix symbols for positive and negative values.

To change the format of currency fields:

  1. Choose Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Currency formats tab.
  3. In the Currency Style area, specify the required format options.
  4. Use the sample positive and negative numbers displayed in the Currency Sample area to verify the settings.
  5. Click Apply to apply the changes and leave the dialog box open, or click OK to apply the changes and close the dialog box. Alternatively, click Cancel to cancel the changes.

NOTE: When system administrators define custom calculated currency fields, they can choose to display the currency value with or without rounding. For example, with rounding, $145.65 would be displayed as $146. You can switch rounding on or off for calculated currency fields in views when adding and formatting fields in views, but you cannot switch rounding on or off for calculated currency fields in forms.
